Another day

Just another day here at the Ashton household. Yes we are all still alive. We have been a bit under the weather lately, but nothing more than a few colds. Hailey had her 9 month check-up on Tuesday. I can't believe she is already 9 months old. Here are the stats for the grandparents: weight: 19 lbs. 50%, height: 28 1/2 in. 75%, head...no idea but it was in the 50%. She had a shot and a finger prick to check for anemia. I think everyone within a 5 mile radius heard her scream...she sure has a set of lungs from all that crying when she had colic. We played outside yesterday. I love the weather here. Below are a few pictures.

This picture is for the grandparents to show...yes, the lot across the street is STILL UGLY, still for sale, with nothing being done. What a lovely view we have.


This photo is for Great Grandma Ashton. Carson looks ADORABLE in his soccer outfit you sent him. Everyone always asks where we found a league for kids so young. Hehe...he just plays with mommy!

At least I got her to look at the camera, I guess next I just need to work on the smile part!

I love this picture...Hailey is totally focused on an airplane flying by. She loves to look at the airplanes when we are outside.

FYI - I think we REALLY NEED TO WORK ON VALENTINE'S DAY NEXT YEAR folks. Did you look at the closing poll? COME ON....no one went on a date or did a fun activity with their significant other, 2 people did a movie, 4 people did dinner, and 8 people did NOTHING. Where's the romance?

Bucket List

So another semi-boring post. My friend Kayla posted that she saw the movie 'The Bucket List' and I just happen to have a list of things I want to do before I kick the bucket. I have had this list for a little while. I am currently working on 3 of them right now....and yes I hope to complete all of them before I kick the bucket!

1. Donate my hair to either "locks of love" or "pantene's beautiful lengths"
2. Run a marathon
3. Own a dog
4. Sit in the cockpit of an airplane during a flight
5. Visit the Sacred Grove
6. See all my children get married in the temple
7. Help the missionaries teach at least one person in my home
8. Travel to Australia
9. Go surfing
10. Volunteer at the temple
11. Meet my granchildren
12. Be a member of an audience in a TV Show
13. Vist all 50 states in the United States (18 down, lots to go!)
14. Learn to juggle
15. Meet the Prophet
16. Be debt free (Yes...includes home mortgage!)
17. Skydive
18. See the Yankees play at Yankee Stadium
19. Ride a mechanical bull
20. Visit the large statue of Christ in South America (Rio de Janero)
21. Serve a mission with my husband.

Right now I only have 21 on my official list, of course there are a million things I would love to do and a million places I'd love to visit...but only the top ones make it on the list. Do any of you have a list?

Valentine's Day

I hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day (or Single Awareness Day, your choice) yesterday. Our day was very eventful and full of fun.

I had to post this picture because this is how Hailey looks 98% of the time. We cannot keep her tongue in her mouth!

Our fun day started with a trip to the library. We had toddler story-time, toddler craft time, infant singing time, and checked out some books. Carson loves the library. When we got home Hailey went down for a late morning nap while Carson and I made cupcakes!

We played, played, played until we couldn't play anymore! We had fun outside although it was a little cold. We did some of Carsons puzzles, and put on silly music and danced. When Hailey went down for her afternoon nap Carson and I had craft time. We made some Valentines for Gramma & Papa Ashton and Gramma & Papa Gardner. I love how he calls them these names. He is getting really good with using Ashton and Gardner so I know who he is talking about too!

Yum!! Time to ice the cupcakes. We used pink and white frosting, and had an assortment of sprinkles! Carson was a big helper!

Although they all looked awesome, these ones were my favorites...very appropriate for Valentine's Day!


Daddy got home and we ate a FANTASTIC Valentine's Dinner (which I wasn't smart enought to take a picture of :( ) with candlelight. Carson kept saying Happy Birthday, but we tried to explain the difference to him. Who wouldn't get confused...candles and cupcakes, sounds like a birthday to me. Anyways - we had steaks on the grill, twice baked potatoes, artesian knot rolls, and corn. YUMM-O! For dessert...CHEESECAKE of COURSE! A little bubbly (that's what we call it..non-alcholohic sparkling juice) topped it all off. The kids went to bed and Bridger and I watched a chick flick. What a superb Valentine's Day!

Rockets Game

Monday night we went to the Houston Rockets Game. It was really fun. Surprisingly the kids did well. Hailey loved it. She would clap her hands, yell, and wave her arms whenever there was an announcement or people cheered. Here are some photos:

We rode to the game from the parking lot on this. There is someone on a bike in the front.

Yes, the seats were nosebleeds, but it was a blast.



I've got a lot of growing to do if I want to fill these shoes!

In the kids area they have a court for the kids, it is awesome!

What a fun eventful night we had. We left before the game was over, but we still had a blast.

Play Time

Quick update:
Bridgers birthday was lots of fun. We went out to dinner without the kids! We went to Red Lobster (he loves seafood). After a romantic dinner we went home and had cake and ice cream with the kids and Ember. Thanks Ember for watching the kids, it was a nice night out! Here's a picture of B's birthday cake after he blew out the candles. That's right, 27 candles...how much fun, or was it what a fire hazard!!

Poor Hailey gets so worn out after playing with Carson she crashed on the front room floor while I was making dinner the other night. Bridger thought it was so cute, and decided to put her toys on top of her.

The weather has been REALLY nice the past week or so. There have been a few cold days, but we've had weather in the 70's. The kids enjoyed some outdoor play time. Hailey would not stay on the blanket, she just wanted to play in the grass. Carson loves sidewalk chalk.

Just a quick shout out to the most amazing husband in the whole world, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Bridger turns 27 today. Plans for tonight include a night out without the kids! YAH! You can leave a comment if you want to wish him a Happy Birthday!

After a fun day playing the boys get tired. Carson is very nice to help Luke get a drink. (As if Luke can't do it himself ..hehe) They are a bunch of goof-balls together! BEST BUDS!!
