Busy Bags

I finished my busy bags. I am so excited to get together with the other 23 women and exchange them. I did dry erase tracing sheets. My kids love doing these, so I thought it would be something good for our exchange. I already have a laminating machine otherwise this probably would have been too expensive for the $1-$2 per bag limit. Everyone got three different dry erase tracing sheets, a dry erase marker (this was by far the most expensive thing), and a terry cloth to wipe everything off. I had to trim the papers down so they would fit in the galloon zipper bags. I took lots of pictures of step by step...but blogger is being ridiculous about uploading photos, so you only get the basics. Glad I had my helpers today! Here's what we did:

Beckham was so good. He played in his swing or bouncer for most of the time.
Hailey was helpful in so many ways: entertaining Beckham, helping pull out lamination sheets, etc.

London was good once I got her a bowl full of Coco Puffs!

WHEW...It only took 2 1/2 hours. Yes I got interupted many times. Changing diapers, nursing, phone call from the school nurse (Carson fell down and hit his head/cut open his chin...he's fine!), more phone calls, etc. Laminating the sheets took the most time to complete. Can't wait to recieve my other busy bags and use them!

Okay - so maybe I sped this up a bit TOO much. Hopefully I don't make anyone dizzy, but here is a video from our bike ride today at East End Park in Kingwood. Carson turfed it a couple of times, but at least he didn't go flying off of the elevated pathways above the swampy areas like he did when he was on training wheels!

We decided to go for this ride after Alisha informed us she was having too much fun in Utah and wouldn't be coming back until tomorrow ;). They'd been so good for the various people that have watched them over the past week that I figured they could use a fun outing. Hailey was a little nervous about riding across the swamps and kept saying "Dad, this is a little creepy". We also somehow ended up on the wrong side of a closed off area... you'll see us slip under the orange fencing to get back on the other side of the 'Danger' sign. In the end we had a great time and got a little exercise - and you get to watch the hour bike ride in about 3 minutes!

Texans vs Eagles

Carson's football team had another rough loss today. At least we walked away with a good feeling about our decision to drive a little further to play in the Kingwood league. We played the undefeated Humble league team and it wasn't so much that we got beat 20-6, but the behavior of the fans and coaches from the other team was appalling. The fans were screaming at the refs every play and it seemed to be working pretty well. I've only combed through the video so far this afternoon, but most of the time you hear the fans screaming for a call they got it, even though I couldn't see the infraction anywhere in the video. On several, I saw that the opposite was blatantly obvious. Check the picture out below where one of our kids lost a tooth to a really late hit.

Carson was a team captain this week and seemed to really enjoy the coin toss and spotlight.

Here's a pic of the boys just after they busted through the banner before the game. You can see Hailey cheering it up in the background with Alisha sporting her Texan gear on the left.

That's my little cheerleader!

Halftime pep talk.

Someone is feeling left out

Lovely Lovely London has been feeling left out of the blog lately. So here are some cute photos of her from this morning.

4 Year Old Preschool

Hailey had her first offical day of 4 year old preschool today. She was so excited to finally be able to go to school at a real school just like Carson did. Of course I had to take a lot of photos!

Cutie Hay

Thumbs up!

London wanted in on the photo action.

Come on, no more pictures let's go!

First worksheet at school.

Back to School

Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. Well, here goes nothing. (Name the show!)

Carson had his first day of KINDERGARTEN today. He was so excited. We took the usual "before we leave home" pictures, followed by a few at school. Mrs. Stewart is his teacher. When asked how his day was this afternoon at pick up he said, "KINDERGARTEN IS AWESOME!"
